Cecilia Arditto (Buenos Aires, 1966) graduated in Conservatorio Julián Aguirre, Argentina; CEAMC, Buenos Aires and Conservatory of Amsterdam (cum laude); studied composition with Gabriel Valverde and Mariano Etkin; analysis with Margarita Fernández.
Prizes and scholarships: BAC-Arditti String Quartet competition; Antorchas 2002 for master abroad; Premio Nacional Fondo de las Artes 2002.
Festivals: Forum Ensemble l’Aleph, Francia; MATA Festival, New York; Gaudeamus Festival, Holland.
She got commissions from NFPK, Stichting Kous and Orgelpark in Holland; KNM, Berlin; Borealis Festival, Norway and Rümlingen Festival, Switzerland. She had residences in Boswil, Switzerland and Camargo Foundation, France.
Her music has been played all over the world. She gave lectures about her music and published articles in specialized publications. Beginning 2012, she publishes her music with Edition Plante, Berlin.
In 2009 Cecilia created Foundation Plan B devoted to research in music theatre.

Starting 2012, she is a certified Bikram yoga teacher, giving classes all over the world, along with her music activities. Since 2002 she has been living in the Netherlands.
My most recent pieces are a form of chamber music in which traditional musical instruments interact with everyday objects: lamps, fans, mirrors and rocking chairs play together with violins, pianos, bass clarinets and cellos.
In these "mini theaters", furniture and things acquire musical features thanks to their proximity to musical instruments, constituting a hybrid world of mixed categories.
